Schoolboy Runaway is a horror game that, since its release, has been going viral in recent weeks. A game that may seem easy but you can't even imagine… there are players who are taking several hours to complete it!
You have to study, but you want to go out and have fun with a friend, so you'll have to manage to escape from the abusive control of your (somewhat sinister) parents. In this indie horror game everything starts when you are at home and the day is very boring. Your (alcoholic) father is watching TV while drinking, as usual, while your mother is doing household chores.
The doorbell rings, it's your best friend calling you to go out for a walk. You don't think about it much and you want to leave immediately. Your possessive mother made your friend from the house and punishes you by locking you in the room to study.
You might even get a slap in the face (yes, the game is kind of strong, but the plot has an underlying message). Your father's treatment will not be much different if he finds out that you are not doing schoolwork: he will force you to do push-ups, squats and other physical punishments.
As you will see, this house is a nightmare and the worst thing is that it will be very difficult to escape from it. The slightest noise and you will be overtaken in your escape attempt. The worst thing is that you will be punished and start over.
The thing that is catching players from all over the world the most is that it is not at all easy to escape, even if the house is not very big. The AI of the game is very responsive and a great job of the developers is noticeable. Your parents will be really smart and they will find out about you right away.
The only way to beat your parents is to be smarter than them, but also stealthy. To do this, you will have to investigate and draw up your perfect escape plan.
Investigate the way to get the key of the electronic lock of the access door. Get into your parents' computer, find objects, hide if necessary, but you know: your parents are on the prowl.
In this game you will find several endings, fun and some horror in equal parts. In some ways it reminds of super hits of the survival horror genre like Hello Neighbor or Granny, but with its own game mechanics and a level of difficulty that makes it very addictive.
In our opinion, Schoolboy Runaway offers a new experience to spend fear with friends in the cooperative mode, makes you feel constant anguish and presents new game mechanics, in addition to a new even more terrifying character (look at the basement)… Did you know that you can access the beta of the game?
Pros and Cons
The best thing about this game: the artificial intelligence that makes parents very clever and that they try to always be ahead of your steps, which represents a real challenge that catches from the first moment and the multiple endings.
The worst thing: It is very difficult to escape from the house and from parental control, but the more you play the easier it becomes.
