What is Gartic Phone Game (The Telephone Game)?
Gartic Phone is based on the classic Game of the cracked phone (or broken phone in some countries), where one person says a phrase to another person and that person to another, until completing a chain. The funny moment comes when the last person reveals the distorted message that has come to him.
The game allows up to 30 players online, so there is room to play with many friends. In addition, it is a game that does not need download, because it can be played directly from the browser.
How to play Gartic Phone?
Playing Gartic Phone is as simple as following these basic instructions:
- In the home page of the game, choose avatar, type your nick and click on the "create room" button.
- Choose the style of play (Normal, Demanding or Secret).
- Choose the time (Fast, Normal or Slow).
- Choose turns (Few, Half or All).
- Select the maximum number of players (with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 30 players).
- Choose the type of sequence (write-draw, draw-write, only draw or write only at the beginning and end).
- Click on the "Invite" button to send the link to your friends. As they join the game room you will see them in the left column.
- When all players are ready, click on the "start" button.
During the game, you can it's more fun to play with voice. To do this you can invite the other opponents to a voice call in Zoom or Discord.
The game begins with players typing a phrase (whatever they want, however absurd it may be… that's more fun). The rest of the players, of course, can not see what the others write.
The phrases are randomly distributed among the participants and they have to try to draw what the phrase indicates. The drawing is passed to another player and the player will have to write the phrase that represents the drawing.
This chain is repeated until the total number of players is completed (remember that at least 4 must be allowed to play). At the end comes the most fun: they reveal how the phrases have been distorted… laughter assured!
